Education & Career

The Schar School of Policy and Government's Biodefense Graduate Program at George Mason University was established in 2003 and offers both on-campus and online Master of Science degrees in Biodefense, a PhD in Biodefense, and graduate certificates in Biodefense, Global Health Security, and Science, Technology, and Security. The program educates the next generation of biodefense and global health security scholars and professionals to prevent, prepare for, and respond to large-scale threats to health security, such as pandemics, weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, and natural disasters. While also bridging the gap between scientists and policy-makers in each of these domains.
